Pillow Makeover

Random fact about me: I love pillows! Not just bedtime pillows, but couch pillows too. The only bummer is that they are so expensive... at least the nice ones are! Some of these pillows start at $35! So since my only couch pillow had a hole in it, I decided it was time for a makeover.

While I was at JoAnn's yesterday, I found some really pretty fabric on sale ($6.99/yd) and decided it would be perfect for the job.

Here is the pillow before: (AKA "the inspiration")

Funny thing is, I decided to take the stuffing out of the pillow instead of just covering up the whole thing, and when I did, I found the cheapest stuffing ever! It was matted down and cheap- kind of gross! I just so happened to have an old pillow in the closet, with "STUFFING" written on the front of it. So I went at it and the fluff in that pillow was the nicest stuffing ever!
I'm so happy I did it this way.

Here is the pillow after:

This is SO easy! Just get some pretty fabric, cut it into the shape you want your pillow to be, stitch it up inside out (to a point), flip it right side out, stuff it with fluff and stitch the corner. You can even add a zipper if you want to be able to wash the cover.

I'm going to make another one just like it for the couch downstairs. I love the burst of color it gives the room. Not bad for $7!
